MART Global Management Solution has been assigned with the role of FPC Level Support Organization ( FPC SO) to facilitate and support the implementation of Agribusiness promotion activities under OIIPCRA project (Subcomponent A.3). It works in collaboration with Producer groups /FPOs/Agri-entrepreneurs (AEs)/ WUAs in agriculture & allied sector so as to provide market linkage support and improve return to farmers. Its major role is to promote aggregation and collective marketing through proper value addition and post-harvest operations. The ABSO is working in close coordination with Directorate of Agriculture & Food Production, Directorate of Horticulture, Directorate of Fisheries and OCTDMS.

Major Deliverables :
The assignment is deliverable based and the major deliverables include
- Mapping and grading of existing FPCs in the project operation area.
- Sensitising FPC and project beneficiaries on climate resilience approaches, and market driven agriculture practices.
- Supporting the FPCs in preparation of a doable and workable business plan which is usually considered as the ‘Bible’ for an FPC.
- Preparing Commodity plan adopting an integrated approach for the beneficiaries of FPC and Pani Panchayat together.
- Supporting FPCs in product aggregation from the MIP and FPC catchment and facilitating collective marketing of the same, ensuring a competitive price from institutional buyers and buyers from destination markets.
- Mapping the need of post-harvest and storage infrastructure in FPC catchment and provisioning of the same through convergence building approach.
- Supporting FPCs in availing input license and streamlining of the inputs in negotiation with companies and other market players.
- Market surplus assessment in the existing clusters and market mapping for trading of the commodity.
Achievement till date :
MART as FPC-SO, conducted diagnostic study of the existing 260 FPOs in the project area, out of which it has mapped 100 FPOs to be linked to 536 MIPs under OIIPCRA. Further, it has developed viable business plans for 80 FPCs addressing the gaps in infrastructure / market / technology / input supply/support system. It has designed basic as well as advance t raining module for FPCs and till date conducted 10 FPC trainings in 7 zones. Considering market linkage support as the primary responsibility, MART has till date supported 45 FPOs in product market linkage with 67 successful linkages with institutional buyers like DeHaat, Big Basket and destination markets like Raipur, Patna etc.
Approximately, 3857 qtl of products has been transacted constituting 19 commodities. There is an increase of nearly 25% in product volume and 20%in transaction value over previous year owing to proper market intelligence, price negotiation and price forecasting services by MART. The Farmers got an increased profit of 7% due to this calculative marketable approach adopted by MART.
MART has promoted and scaled up cluster approach by farmers for bulk production of project supported agricultural, horticultural & pisciculture commodities by which the collective marketing could be possible. It is assisting FPC and the linked Pani Panchayats in crop as well as business planning. Surplus assessment of farmers in Pani Panchayat and FPCs and trader mapping in local markets are the key to the success in commodity aggregation and collective marketing. While doing the rural marketing, MART always focusses on its 3-M concept: Micro Market, Micro-finance and Micro- planning.
A proper planning followed by facilitating credit linkage of FPC with financial institutions and marketing support made the endeavour successful and till date MART has supported market transaction to the tune of Rs. ₹ 1,26,62,902.00 .
